DAY 94

I went looking for Mary today. She’s buried in St Nicks, the old churchyard by the creek.

They’ve opened the gates up again, so people can walk through, and even though I couldn’t find her gravestone I knew she was there. I sat in a corner, unruly overgrown roses hung low, their red heads heavy with scent, and I read the last few pages of her book. It was an end, but not the end; of this I have absolutely no doubt. And I have so many questions for her, so many.
